Blue Bird Day

Groomers and sun. Powder and fun. Such is the reason.

OK, here's what you hope for!

Why do you travel for 9 hours (drive, fly, fly, drive) for a 4 day 'long weekend' then travel 9 hours back? For skiing like this. Big Sky is beautiful any time, but when you get 10 - 15" of super light powder, add brilliant blue sunshine, and a few thousand happy souls (2 of whom are your favorite ski companions), you have a recipe for one of life's best kind of days. You can't count on getting this experience - whole trips have been taken with no new snow. But we have been very fortunate for almost all of our Big Sky trips of encountering great snow. But this was a day to be remembered. After many runs, we were nearly speechless. So, feeling speechless, I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Back to Big Sky

Well, the President and Treasurer of Big Sky Dream Enterprises have business to do. The firewood rack needs to be re-sized and moved to the front of the garage - it's too hard to park 2 cars in there with the rack on the side. The bike rack needs to be moved. Then it is very important to install dimmer switches in the dining room and living room. We also need to be sure the ice-melt system is working properly and that the snow is shoveled off the back deck. And that the hot tub is working properly. And that the key storage lock system is working properly. Oh, and we'll make sure there's no ice buildup on the front sidewalk. It's really painful to have to leave Morgantown in the middle of a rainy gray cold winter, but someone has to do this work. It's a sacrifice, but, oh well. :)
